Around the World With 80 Fans Tour - Coming to a City Near YouRETROPHAZE

One Critic wrote,  "These guys would probably appeal to 40 something New Wavers, turned Network Engineers" . . . the critic  was trying to  be a smart ass - it back fired.  What he turned out to be, was correct - Welcome to Digital Folkore.

Jim Callahan and Paul Demme began recording together in 2002. The result has been a number of songs, recordings and music videos, spanning a wide range of styles, from Rock, Punk/Wave and Alternative to Techno.  Highlights of their newly formed collaboration include: Airplay on UK’s "Pulse unsigned" Satellite Radio, College Radio and the internet's "Radio Indy".  The debut effort also saw  a theme song written and performed for Time Warner/Comcast Cable’s  TV show "Rappin’ With Rockstars" (a syndicated music program which has featured artists including Billy Idol, Judas Priest’s Rob Halford, Vanilla Ice, Jimmie’s Chicken Shack, Aaron Lewis of Stained, Third Eye Blind and Bowling for Soup - just to name a few).

Jim and Paul were featured on "Rappin’ With Rockstars" as well. The episode debuted three of the band’s music videos and an interview filmed at the Glen Burnie Record and Tape Traders.( The interview was part of a promotion to launch the duos self produced CD "Digital Folklore" which hit stores in 2004 on their own indie label Solitaire Music).  Retrophaze have also had videos featured on Millenium cable's "Positive Rock".

Digital Folklore Back in the Studio
Next Retrophaze CD due out next year!

Jim and Paul are busy recording their next CD. The band has a number of songs in the works. Paul Demme was quoted in a recent interview as saying, "I think fans of minimalist Techno and Synth Pop will be very pleased with our new project. Our first album Digital Folklore was very conceptual; we experimented with a number of styles and genres. Without giving too much away all I can tell you, is we have a catch phrase that we’ve been using quite a lot in the studio – for those about to oscillate – we salute you."
